Origami Bird

Difficulty: Easy

Step 1: Start with a square piece of origami paper

Step 2: Fold the paper in half by taking the top corner to the bottom corner.

Step 3: Fold the top edge down but leave a triangle approximately this size at the bottom.

Step 4: Turn the paper over

Step 5: Take the top layer of the the triangle and and fold it upwards like this.

Step 6: Fold the paper in half, from left to right like this.

Step 7: Now fold the same flap back but not all the way. You should leave a diamond shape in the middle like this.

Step 8: Fold the right hand corner over the left hand corner now, and crease firmly.

Step 9: Turn the paper 90 degrees clockwise like this.

Step 10: Time for the “inside reverse” fold. Put your thumb underneath the bird’s head between the two sides of paper.

Step 11: Then push down on the top of the bird’s head with your index finger to flatten it. Finally, use your thumb and middle finger to fold the sides of paper in.

Step 12: Your origami bird is finished!
