This is how to make an origami fortune teller, step by step.
This is what your finished origami fortune teller will look like!
Step 1: You’ll need a square piece of origami paper and some coloured pens.
Step 2: Fold the paper in half by taking the left corner over to the right corner.
Step 3: Unfold the paper
Step 4: Fold the paper in half by taking the bottom corner up to the top corner
Step 5: Unfold the paper
Step 6: Now fold the paper along the diagonals, and then unfold it so that it looks like this
Step 7: Take the top right corner and fold it in to the centre point.
Step 8: Repeat this for all the other corners so that it looks like this.
Step 9: Turn it over
Step 10: Now fold the top corner down to the centre.
Step 11: Fold all the other corners into the centre so that your origami fortune teller looks like this.
Step 12: Write the numbers 1-8 on each of the segments.
Step 13: Lift the corners and write the fortune teller messages on the panels underneath.
Step 14: Fold the corners back into the centre and turn the origami fortune teller over.
Step 15: Mark each of the 4 segments with a colour (or a number if you prefer).
Step 16: Put your thumb and index finger underneath the coloured segments and move them back and forth and from left to right to form the shape.
Step 17: It’s ready to use! Ask someone to pick a colour. Move the fortune teller once for each letter of the chosen colour. Then ask someone to pick a number from the exposed middle segments and repeat.
Step 18: You’re ready to tell the future!
