Place the paper with the red side facing down, fold it in half diagonally, leaving a crease, and unfold it.

Step 2

Fold it in half diagonally from the other direction, and unfold it.

Step 3

Fold up the bottom edge to align with the diagonal crease you made, crease it well, and unfold it.

Step 4

Next, we need to divide the paper into five equal parts.

Fold up the bottom edge to align with the grey line extending horizontally from the red spot on the left edge [the red spot is the intersection point formed by the crease you made in the previous step and the left edge]. Leaving a crease, and unfold it.

Then, fold down the top edge to align with this crease you just made, and unfold it.

Step 5

Fold down the top edge to align with the crease indicated by the grey line, leaving a crease, and unfold it. Then, fold up the bottom edge to align with this crease, crease it well, and unfold it.

Step 6

Fold the left and right edges toward the center along the dotted lines connecting the two red spots, which are the intersection points formed by the creases. Crease them well, and unfold them.

Step 7

Fold the left edge to align with the crease you made in the previous step on the right side, and unfold it.

Repeat this for the right edge.

Step 8

Rotate the paper 45 degrees clockwise, and fold it in half horizontally from bottom to top.

Step 9

Fold the right section of the bottom edge, indicated by the red line, to align with the crease marked by the black line, leaving a short crease as shown by the dotted line. Then, unfold it.

Repeat this for the left side.

Step 10

Unfold the paper, and fold it in half vertically from right to left.

Step 11

Fold the top section of the right edge, indicated by the red line, to align with the crease marked by the black line, leaving a short crease as shown by the dotted line. Then, unfold it.

Repeat this for the bottom side.

Step 12

Unfold the paper.

Step 13

Create four mountain folds shown by the dotted lines, each connecting two grey spots formed by the creases you made.

Step 14

Rotate the paper 180 degrees from left to right.

Step 15

Fold the bottom left edge along the dotted line connecting two red spots formed by the intersection of creases you made. Leaving a short crease at each end, shown by the black dotted lines.

Repeat this for the other three edges.

Step 16

Turn over the paper from left to right.

Step 17

Fold the bottom left edge to align with the crease indicated by the grey line, leaving a crease, and unfold it.

Repeat this for the other three edges.

Step 18

Flip the paper over from left to right.

Step 19

Mountain fold the creases indicated by the red dotted lines, and valley fold the creases indicated by the black dotted lines.

Shape it based on these mountain folds and valley folds to get a raised cross as you can see in the third picture.

Valley fold the four creases indicated by the black dotted lines [second crease from the edge to the center], then you will get a raised cube in the center.

Step 20

Turn over the paper from left to right.

Step 21

Fold up the bottom left edge along the crease shown by the dotted lines, then fold up the bottom point diagonally. Next, fold the bottom right edge, right point, and top right edge along the creases shown by the dotted lines in turn.

Step 22

Fold down the top point, lift the top layer at the bottom left, and fold the top left edge along the existing crease [pictures 1 to 3].

Fold the left corner and the short lower left edge toward the center along the dotted line to finish shaping the brim [pictures 4 to 6].

Step 23

Turn over the hat from left and right, then rotate it 45 degrees clockwise.

Step 24

As shown in the picture below, press the bottom of the four sides of the hat to make them fit tightly against the hat body.
